Meet Dr. Schlicher

“I love to make people smile! It is so cool to see the joy and self-confidence when a patient sees their new smile at the end of their treatment. I love the challenges of designing a treatment plan to efficiently move the teeth and then partnering with my patients to make their result stunning.

Orthodontics is not just straightening teeth to me; it is also about taking the time to really know each patient and truly caring about what’s going on in their lives. Orthodontics is a great profession that stretches me to connect with patients. It challenges me to execute excellent orthodontic treatment and brings me great joy when, at the end of the day, I have done everything I can to make my patients smile.”
— Dr. Schlicher

Dr. William Schlicher, or Dr. Will as his patients call him, loves practicing in Pleasanton and serving families throughout the area. Having grown up in nearby Lafayette, Dr. Will and his wife feel right at home in Pleasanton with its small town charm, great sense of community, and wonderful schools.

When he is not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Will loves spending time with his wife and sons. He also enjoys a number of sports including cycling, swimming, running, golf and anything else to get outside and enjoy this beautiful area we are blessed to call home.

Education

Dr. Will attended the University of California Los Angeles for his Bachelor of Science degree in physiology and minor in English before entering dental school at Harvard University. There, he graduated cum Laude with his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD). Dr. Schlicher’s orthodontic training was completed at the University of California San Francisco where, in addition to earning his Master of Science degree, he also served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Will is now on faculty in the department of orthodontics at UCSF as an Assistant Clinical Professor, teaching dental students about dental development and orthodontics. He has been fortunate to learn from many incredible teachers and mentors throughout his academic career and loves sharing his passion for orthodontics with the next generation of dentists and orthodontists.
